Project: Interactive MPEG2 display
Enhancing the customers' experience of the factory tour was a key part of this development and Rolls Royce enlisted TouchVision to design and install an audio visual solution that would enhance the tour and enable customers to learn about each stage of the manufacturing process. TouchVision integrated infra red enabled MPEG2 playback devices and plasma displays at each location of the manufacturing process.
Tour guides simply select the appropriate tour language on their remote control and the display demonstrates and describes the relevant stage of the manufacturing process. The MPEG2 playback devices are fully networked allowing updates and messages to be controlled from one central location. The system provides flexibility for multilingual tours, health and safety information, employee messages and other essential team building activities are shown on the system, making the installation functional for both internal as well as external communications.
Clive Walton, Technical Director, said, "Rolls Royce wanted a display method that could match the level of quality that their customers expect and which reflected their investment in this key head office location. TouchVision delivered a system that enhanced their customer experience."
